Seriously, watch this interview! It's hilarious and sexy and at the end America has a wardrobe malfunction, lol.

Also, anyone have any awesome Bitch Slap icons? If so, show them off in the comments. I and I'm sure many others would appreciate it! Honestly, I've made so many Bitch Slap posts at this point that I feel dirty for not having a Bitch Slap icon to use with them.

This is interesting.
See a few months ago I lied to a friend about something relationship based. See years ago something went down between the two of us and there was intense dramaz as a result and I don't know..she blocked it out or something. Not wanting to revisit that whole drama llama I just told her that said event was with someone else, thus offsetting the entire timeline by 3 years, so she knows I lied.
The moral of the story, if there's no good to come of the truth and you suck at lying. Shut up and use the "it's personal" excuse.
In other news..I'm hungry.

So we ordered Chinese Sunday night. Now it's Friday Thursday (dang it finals!) and I'm wondering if my leftover Chicken Chow Mei Fun and my friend's Sweet and Sour Chicken are safe to eat today.
Yesterday I ate leftover restaurant mac and cheese (with bacon and tomatoes in it!) that was from Saturday night and am fine. Same time distance, but very different foods.
Whaddya think? Chuck or chow the Chinese?

Here's where our story gets interesting. I had an hour and a half to kill and, realizing that I hadn't brought anything to study (and didn't feel like working anyway, after writing a 3-page paper in 2 hours - new record for me), I thought Hey, I can just buy a bottle of Pine Cider (it is neither pine fresh nor made of any kind of cider, but it is delicious), kick back, and watch some Bleach on my laptop.
I sat down, and as soon as I took out my headphones and was about to put them in, I heard "ザック、ザック!" which is Japanese for "I have English homework!" So I just grinned, shut my laptop and sidled over to take a look. it's fascinating, actually, the sort of mistakes Nihonjin make when writing English. But again, I don't think it's a coincidence that it took me until exactly 6:35 to help my friend and her friend out, when my next appointment was at 6:40. Lately it seems like every time I enter a public place someone asks for my help with something, and I have to say it's a huge ego booster to think that people trust me that much, even people I don't know particularly well.
So off I went to meet with my entourage, and we had a ton of fun. We ate dinner as a group - rather than ordering individually, it was just sashimi and soup for everyone, but boy was it delicious. also the first course was a BOAT FULL OF FISH. it was among the most epic things I've ever seen. (might get beat out by Robin Hood, Prince of Awesome, though. couldn't say.)
This being a school night, people had to leave one by one, some of them pretty early, but it was still awesome. And they each took a pic with me before they left ^__^
oh, um, speaking of pictures... my friend Mogi-chan, the short cute otaku, really wants to see me cosplay. To this end, she brought a Santa costume to the gig tonight, as promised, and asked me to wear it.
What she failed to mention, as I noticed after I got it on, was that it was a girl's Santa costume - hat and rather feminine apron-like thing.
sssoooo, I guess whether or not that ends up on Facebook depends on whether my friends can figure out how to upload pics... I don't think of it as being that difficult, but some of them are having trouble. (Nihonjin, for the record, don't use fb as a rule - those who do have one tend to be friends with a lot of gaijin.)
Anyway, it was a blast. I'm gonna miss those kids. Hopefully we'll meet again if I can make good on my plans to return to Nagoya. Quote of the night:
Also, I taught everyone how to do "llama llama llama llama llama llama llama MITOSIS llama llama llama..." Which I think pretty much fulfills Kim's exhortation to "Remember, you do not represent America... You do not represent Middlebury... YOU REPRESENT XENIA!"

In other-other news, United broke a $3500 guitar, and refused to pay for it, so the singer wrote them a song. Heh.

Merriam-Webster's Word of the Day for December 17, 2009 is:
intransigent \in-TRAN-suh-junt\ adjective
: characterized by refusal to compromise or to abandon an extreme position or attitude : uncompromising
Example sentence:
Ms. Baxter was intransigent about her most famous rule: no gum or candy in her classroom unless youd brought enough to share with everybody.
Did you know?
English speakers borrowed "intransigent" in the 19th century from Spanish "intransigente" ("uncompromising"), itself a combination of the familiar prefix "in-" ("not") and "transigente" ("willing to compromise"). "Transigente" comes from the Spanish verb "transigir" ("to compromise"), which in turn comes from Latin "transigere" ("to come to an agreement"). The French have a similar verb, "transiger," which also means "to compromise." You may wonder if the word "transigent" exists in English, and the answer is "not really." It has seen occasional use, but it is not well established. There is, however, one other common English word that traces from Latin "transigere": "transact," meaning "to conduct (business)."
